Get a real trainer instead of a con man.
Probably a few hundred dollars.
Well, you probably can’t afford him. I don’t think most of us could. His services are utilized by very rich people – Hollywood stars, pro sports figures, etc. If you watch the show, you should get some pointers that way.
Go to a pet supply store – they usually advertise people in your area that are 1) far cheaper 2) just as effective and 3) more humane.
What you see on his show are success stories – why would he show the failures?
Work WITH a trainer so that you know what you need to so that your pooch will behave when you are around, and the trainer isn’t.
Judging by all the things I see Cesar’s name on, I doubt he has much time to do very many house calls anymore. There is probably some kind of waiting list.
Try to search/advertise for a professional dog trainer in your area by checking the newpaper and other media sources. I can certainly tell you it will be much cheaper and you will get a much quicker response than if you were to search out Cesar.
yeah, mucho dinero amigo.
You need to be like Cesar though! Change the attitude, get in there and take one for the team! A little mauling never hurt anyone!
I would not waste my money on him because I think he is a joke. His method are outdated, cruel and dangerous. Haven’t you noticed the disclaimer at the beginning of the show that says not to try his methods at home without consulting a professional? Why is the disclaimer there because you could get hurt using his methods. Just find a knowledgeable trainer in your area and join a training class so YOU can learn to train and control your dog.
cesar is not a cure all, in fact i find him to be deceptive. go to a local trainer, just because they aren’t on tv doesn’t mean they aren’t good trainers.
Cesar Millan is not doing house calls at this time. If you go on his website he does have an area to ask for a trainer recommendation.
Or try http://dogpro.org
Or go to the AKC’s website and find a local Obedience Club or check your yellow pages, some clubs have an ad. Or google for an Obedience training club..that is normally cheaper than a private trainer.
I do recommend Cesar’s book and DVDs as well as his show. I do not think he’s a god, but I have learned some good things from watching him.
Also google Nothing In Life is Free…..if you watch Cesar’s show you’ll know it’s normally the OWNER that needs the work , more than the dog !!!
You need to change how you deal with the dog to help him change how he deals with the world.
Go to: http://www.cesarmillaninc.com for all your questions and answers, or to talk directly to him.
To respond to all the negative answers about him: you’re wrong, Cesar is a good trainer, and person. He knows his stuff.
I had a personal experience with him, as I had two dogs that were rescued in Louisiana, after the Katrina storm. They were both "animal killers" literally. We contacted Cesar, who took them in as part of his personal pack. These two dogs were completely rehabilitate after few months, I believe 3-4. My hats off to him!!!
Shepherdgirl and Sniffydogs are correct, you need a real trainer not Cesar. The human society even had an article about him that was not favorable, look it up on the net something about abuse, he tried to sidestep it and say it wasn’t him it was a different trainer at his facility, bottom line , his name is there, he is responsible. Some of his methods work, some do not, some are cruel, some are not, has a tv show showcasing sucess stories, what about the others you don’t hear about?
